How to Qualify following Badges?

Membership Badge

Before being invested, a Rover must satisfy his Rover Leader that he knows the following:

Scout Promise & Law
Short History of Scout Movement
Scout Sign and Salute

Rover Membership Badge is worn on the Left Pocket, whereas World Brotherhood Badge is worn on the Right Pocket

Hamdam Badge

Hamdam Badge is earned by a Rover atleast within a Year after Passing Membership Badge and is worn between Left Shoulder and Elbow

While qualifying for Hamdam Badge, the Rover is eligible to earn atleast One (1) Proficiency Badge-other than Proficiency Badges marked for qualifying President Rover Scout Badge

 

Spiritual Development

  1. Know Haqook-ul-Allah and Haqook-ul-Ibad with Translation
  2. Complete about Seerat-un-Nabi
  3. Knowledge about Arkan-e-Islam

Rovers of other Religions will offer their Religious Rights according to their Faith

 

Intellectual Development

  1. Rope work: How to Make and Know the Uses of Reef Knot, Sheet Bend, Sheep Shank, Clove Hitch, Bowline, One Turn and Two Half Hitches, Timber Hitch, Marline hitch - Know the Method for Preparing Whipping and know its Uses - Know How to Make Waggle with the Help of any Article
  2. Know how to Prepare Pole, Sheer and Diagonal Lashings with Uses
  3. Prepare Models of Four (4) kinds of Pioneering Projects
  4. Know in Detail about History of Scouting
  5. Know Scout Signs, Signals and  Commands
  6. Know How make use of  Compass
  7. Participate in Five (5) Days Mandatory Camps
  8. Hike: Twenty (20) Kilometres Hike with Night Stay At the end of the Hike Prepare Hike Report with Directions which must also includes Names, Addresses and Contact Numbers of Important Places

 

Physical Development

  1. Health and Hygiene: Know the Basic Principles of Health and Hygiene
  2. Participate in Exercise and Games
  3. First Aid: Know How to Stop Internal and External Bleeding
  4. Be able to Deal with: Cuts, Scratches, Sprains, Burns and Scalds, Bleeding from Nose, Stings, Bites
  5. Know Treatment for Snake Bite - Know Treatment for Electric Shock
  6. Know Treatment and Kinds of Other Shocks
  7. Knowledge about Blood Circulation in Human Body
  8. Know the Usage and Methods for Preparing Triangular and Other Bandages

 

Social Development

  1. Know Basic Knowledge of the Five (5) Areas of Conservation
  2. Know Concept of Service in Rovering
  3. Know the Role of Rovering in the Community
  4. Be Able to Spare atleast Two (2) Hours in a Week for Six (6) months in Community / Social Development Activities (Practically Twelve (12) Hours), during Week atleast Two (2) Hours
  5. Knowledge and treatment about following disease:
  6. Aid, Diabetics, Cancer and Hyper Tension
  7. Knowledge and Treatment about Drug Abuses

Istaqlal Badge

Istaqlal Badge is earned by a Rover atleast within a Year after Passing Hamdam Badge and is worn between left Shoulder and Elbow replacing Hamdam Badge

While qualifying for Istaqlal Badge, the Rover is eligible to earn atleast Two (2) more Proficiency-other than the Proficiency Badges marked for qualifying President Rover Scout Badge

Rover should be given Training in such a way that not only He should Learn, but also be able to Teach others for this Badge

 

Spiritual Development

  1. Know by Heart Khutba-e-Hajjatul wida
  2. Describe in Detail about Sulah-e-Hudabia
  3. Describe in Detail the causes of Ghazawa-e-badar, Ohad, Khundaq, Khyber and Fateh-e-Macca
  4. Know the Life of Two (2) Mohajar and Ansar Saheba-e-Karam
  5. Perform Social Services at Religious Gathering and Places

Rovers of other Religions will offer their Religious Rights according to their Faith

 

Intellectual Development

  1. Pioneering: How to Make and also Know the Uses of Fireman Chair Knot, Crown Knot, Rolling Hitch, Scaffold Hitch, Highway-man Hitch and Turks Head
  2. Know How to Prepare Back, Short, and Eye Splices with uses
  3. Know How to Prepare Two (2) Projects of some Utility with his Patrol
  4. Know Uses as well as also Know How to Prepare Diagonal and Tripod Lashings
  5. Map Reading and to Know How to Make: Draw a Map Using Triangular Method
  6. Find North by Day or Night without Compass
  7. Estimation: Knowledge of Measuring Depths, Widths, Distances, Numbers, Weights and Heights
  8. Camping: Know How to Prepare Camp Kitchen and Types of Fires
  9. Know How to Cook Chapaties, Rice, Two Hot Beverages and Three Curries
  10. Know How to Cook Meat, Vegetables and Bread
  11. Provide Help and Assistance to Shaheens and Scouts Units in their Camps
  12. Must have Camped for Six (6) Consecutive Nights (Camp for three (3)
  13. Consecutive Nights twice is also acceptable)
  14. Hike: Thirty (30) Kilometres Hike with the Help of Compass
  15. Night Stay Compulsory
  16. At the End of the Hike Prepare Hike Report with Directions which must also includes Names, Addresses and Contact Numbers of important Places and Emergency Centres

 

Physical Development

  1. Health and Hygiene: Daily Exercise and Participation in Team Games
  2. First Aid: Know How to Treat Heat Strokes, Epilepsy and Various Other Pains
  3. Know How to Save Drowning Person
  4. Know the Method for Diagnosing Fracture and Know the Types of Fractures
  5. Know How to Render First Aid to Person with Head Injury and Know How to Treat Person with Wound
  6. Know How to Treat a Person with Dog Bite
  7. Know Methods for Rescuing Person from Fire and also to Know How to Control Fire
  8. Know the Methods for Providing Artificial Respiration

 

Social Development

  1. Know the Rights and Responsibilities of a Good Citizen
  2. Know the Functions of Local Self Government Institutions upto District Level
  3. Take part in Initiations and Organisation of Community Development Projects of any one of the following Projects:
  4. Adult Literacy, Control of Epidemics, Water Logging and Salinity Eradications, Recreation for Children, Agriculture Production and various Agriculture Disease and Preventive Measures to Control them
  5. Know How to Instruct Shaheens and Scouts in various Areas of Conservation
  6. Know how to Find out and describe the Causes of Extinction of One Pakistani
  7. Bird or Animal and suggest Remedies for the same
  8. Know and describe the uses of Axe, Saw and other Tools used in Forestry

President Rover Scout (PRS) (Highest Rank Badge for Rovers)

President Rover Scout Badge (PRS) Certificate is issued by the National Scouts Headquarters, Islamabad with the signature of Chief Scout Commissioner, Pakistan Boy Scouts Association

President Rover Scout (PRS) Appellate will be decorated on Both the Shoulders of the Rover

All the Proficiency Badges Earned by the Rover will be worn by the Rover between Right Shoulder and Elbow

Rover age must be between 20 to 25 years

Rover must be Istaqlal Badge Holder

Rover must have earned following Proficiency Badge to qualify President Rover Scout (PRS) Badge:

Sadaqat Badge for Muslims and Ikhlakiat Badge for Non-Muslims

Rambler Badge

Computer Operator / Driving (any one from this group)

Rover Instructor / Civil Defence (any one from this group)

Rover must have stayed in the camp for atleast Twenty (20) Nights

Certificate of “Rover of the Year” duly signed by the President and Chief Scout of Pakistan with Special Shield

 

President’s Gold Medal Award on Provincial Scout Associations Levels

Who selects the President’s Gold Medal Awardee?
Each Provincial Scouts Association in Pakistan, on yearly basis

Rover already selected for President’s Gold Medal Award will not be allowed to compete for this award another time

Methods for selecting President’s Gold Medal Awardee
As per criteria given in the National Youth Policy & System Programme of Pakistan Boy Scouts Association during Three (3) Days Camp organised by the Provincial Scouts Association

Prizes and Certificate Awarded to President’s Gold Medal Awardee
Certificate duly signed by the President and Chief Scout of Pakistan with Special Medal.
